Our Process
We want you to be informed of every aspect of the building process, that way we can work together to make the process as smooth and pleasant as possible. We want to build the right building for you the first time.
Choosing the right building
Certification may be mandated in areas with heightened snow loads or wind speeds, but even if not required, opting for a certified building offers numerous benefits. For example certified metal buildings can be included in the appraisal value of your home should you ever choose to sell.
Getting a certified building means that an engineer has certified your building's safety and strength against higher wind and snow loads through the addition of reinforcements such as double legs, Bracing, closer centers, etc.
While some locations may exempt smaller carports from permit requirements, failure to obtain one can result in fines or even a mandate to remove the structure entirely. Ricardo LLC will not be liable for failure to get a permit nor for failure to order a certified building where required. It is the customer's sole responsibility to liaise with local building officials for necessary permits and information, but rest assured, we'll design and install a building that meets all local codes.
Please note that additional fees apply to certified buildings due to added material, labor, and the cost of the drawings themselves.
When you order
A deposit is required upon ordering (preferably via Cashier's Check, or Money Order) payable to: Ricardo LLC or our Authorized Dealer directly
Lead times are 2-3 weeks out for non-certified buildings, with an additional 2 weeks for certified ones, depending on building size and customizations.
Do your part to keep us safe! Please call 811, 1 to 2 weeks prior to installation to mark all underground lines on the building site.
Ensure the installation site is as level as possible, we prefer compacted gravel or a concrete pad. This is ideally done by an experienced, licensed contractor in order to level the site professionally and account for water drainage. The site where the building is to be built must be prepped and 100% level prior to installation. We want to give you the highest quality metal building we can, and that starts with a level site.
Installation
Installation durations vary based on building size and customizations, typically ranging from a few hours to several days.
Total Balance is due upon delivery, with Cashiers Check or Money Order payable to: Ricardo LLC
The materials for the building will be delivered on a truck and trailer with a length of around 50 feet. There must be room on-site to maneuver and park the truck as well as be able to easily access both sides of the truck and trailer to move materials. Please also ensure there is a 3 foot egress on any side of the building.
Then our experienced crew will install your building with expert craftsmanship, producing the highest quality, most resilient structure we can.
